Detroit residents can look forward to mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures, according to the latest 7-day weather forecast from the National Weather Service. With a calm shift in the winds becoming east around 6mph, today's high is expected to peak at a pleasant 74 degrees. As the evening approaches, those clear conditions will continue, leading into a mostly clear night with temps dipping to a low of around 56.
Looking ahead to Wednesday and Thursday, the trend of sunny weather will persist, reaching highs of 79 and 84 respectively. It's a relatively calm wind turning east southeast at 5 to 8 mph on Wednesday morning that will set the tone for another bright day. Come Thursday night, however, things become partly cloudy but stay warm with a low hovering around 66 degrees.
As we edge closer to the weekend, forecasters are predicting a shift in the weather pattern. Friday carries a 70% chance of precipitation, with showers and a possible thunderstorm cropping up after 2 pm, as per the National Weather Service. The largely warm and bright week takes a wet turn with a high near 81 during the day, tumbling to a much cooler 55 overnight as more thunderstorms could roll in before veering back to chances of showers.
Conditions on Saturday may start unsettled with a chance of showers before 2 pm but will begin to open up to partly sunny skies and a moderate high around 66. Temperatures at night drop further, setting a trend that continues into the start of the next week. But as night falls, Detroiters should experience a partly cloudy evening with lows making a descent to around 48 degrees.
Wrapping up the weekend and moving into Monday, a streak of mostly sunny days reemerges with highs steadily climbing from 66 on Sunday to 71 by Monday. Nights are to remain partly cloudy with lows marginally inching up from 50 to a milder 55, according to the National Weather Service.
