The city of Detroit can expect a mixed bag of weather in the coming week, oscillating between sunny skies and shower-ridden days. Temperatures might climb to a balmy 84 degrees today under mostly sunny conditions, although the patchy fog could make an early appearance before the morning ebbs away. A gentle south breeze will blow through the city, according to the latest update from the National Weather Service.
Tonight, there’s a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m., with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping to a comfortable 64 degrees. The southeast wind will calm down after midnight. On Saturday, expect a return to sunny weather with temperatures rising to 85 degrees and a light northwest breeze. The night will be clear, with temperatures around 63 degrees, hinting at the coming autumn.
The weather pattern continues through the weekend, with Sunday breaking into partly sunny daylight and a high in the low 80s but come nightfall, showers are likely, particularly after 2 a.m., ballooning the chance of rainfall to a robust 70%. As Monday arrives, that likelihood extends into the afternoon, albeit, with reduced temperature stakes as the daytime high settles around 75 degrees enveloped by mostly cloudy skies.
Monday night has a chance of showers from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., continuing into Tuesday, which will be cloudy with a high of 73 degrees. Tuesday night also has a chance of showers and a low of 59 degrees. Wednesday will be similar, with a high of around 72 degrees and a slight chance of more showers that night as temperatures drop to about 56 degrees.
By Thursday, the inconsistent weather continues; it will be mostly sunny, but there’s still a chance of showers. For more details on the weather forecast, visit the National Weather Service's website.
