The Eanes Independent School District Superintendent, Dr. Jeff Arnett, detailed in a letter that the student's peers used the district's Westlake Watch, an anonymous reporting system, to bring the issue to the administration's attention. Following these reports, the swift collaboration between the administrative staff and local enforcement led to the student's arrest. Dr. Arnett's letter, as obtained by KXAN, underscored that the district has, "no reason to believe there is an existing threat to the school," but promised an increased vigilance over the coming week.
