Getting creative with carving isn't the only way to celebrate pumpkin season this year, the Library is hosting its annual Storybook Pumpkin Contest, and the call for entries is open, with a twist of literary charm. This community event, as announced by the City of White Settlement, kicks off on October 7th, when kids can pick up pumpkins to bedazzle with their favorite storybook characters and scenes.
The submission deadline is a brisk walk down the autumnal aisle till October 22, adults are welcome to participate but there's a catch they have to bring their own pumpkins to the party, no free gourds for those beyond the age of innocence, but they too can share in the festive creativity.
