As the city geared up for another weekend of community events, White Settlement residents had an opportunity to participate in sustainable practices and enjoy local offerings. According to the City of White Settlement, the Resident Tire Recycle Event last Saturday invited locals to responsibly dispose of unwanted tires from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Municipal Complex located at 8211 White Settlement Road. Attendees were reminded to adhere to a limit of four tires per vehicle and to bring along a White Settlement water bill as proof of residency.

Adding to the eco-conscious theme, the city ensured the tire recycling initiative was only for residential use, excluding semi, trailer, or tractor tires to focus on community member needs. Alongside this event, residents and visitors alike started their mornings with fresh produce and goods at the Cowtown Farmers Market between 8 a.m. and noon, situated at Veterans Park, 8901 Clifford Street, where the scent of fresh goods, the sound of local vendors, and the sight of vibrant produce filled the air, setting a tone of communal sustenance. Apart from tire recycling, residents engaged with PAWS Protecting Animals of White Settlement, which operated during the same hours, offering care and attention to the furry residents of the area.

The weekend also brought a splash of fun with SplashDayz Waterpark, providing an aquatic escape for families and thrill-seekers from Saturday to Monday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., where the community’s vibrancy spilled over into waves of laughter and the cool reprieve of swimming pools.
