The Winter Park community is saying goodbye to Farm + Haus, a popular local restaurant known for its healthy, homemade food. On social media, owners Brittany and Patrick Lyne announced that they are closing the restaurant after less than two years due to personal and professional challenges. The couple's decision highlights the difficulties small businesses face today, as reported by OrlandoWeekly.
The Lynes' journey with Farm + Haus spanned a decade, starting as a dinner delivery service before expanding to a food stall in the East End Market in 2016 and ultimately launching the full-service restaurant in 2022 that recently shuttered its doors at 526 S. Park Avenue – this development not only affects the Lynes but also adds to the growing list of local restaurant closures, which includes the likes Ethos Vegan Kitchen, Valkyrie Doughnuts and The Hammered Lamb all wrestling with their survival in the current economic climate. According to Orlando Weekly, several other establishments have recently closed or faced severe challenges.
In a moving statement shared by Bungalower, the Lynes reflected on their remarkable decade-long adventure with Farm + Haus: "From a modest dinner delivery concept moving into the @eastendmarket incubator kitchen, to being offered a counter spot inside of the East End Market hall, to then opening up a full-service restaurant on Park Avenue." They acknowledged the highs and lows, forming community ties and encountering celebrities, all motivated by a love of nutritious cuisine.
The Lynes shared their restaurant’s journey, noting challenges like the Pulse tragedy and the pandemic. Despite their efforts to keep their vision alive, they’re closing Farm + Haus to focus on family and new opportunities.
