A woman was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound yesterday in the parking lot of a Whataburger in Schertz, Texas. The Schertz Police Department responded to the scene near I-35 and FM 3009 at around 7:50 p.m. following a dispatch over a "Violent Disturbance" call, as reported by FOX San Antonio.
Upon the officers' arrival, directed to a particular vehicle, a grim scene unravelled where inside the vehicle, they discovered a female slumped over. According to KTSA, it was reported that she had sustained what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was promptly assisted by police who administered life-saving measures until she could be transported by ambulance to the hospital in grave condition. As investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident, authorities have not yet disclosed additional details.
