Early this morning, a raid involving Worcester Police Vice Squad and DEA HIDTA led to the arrest of five men on trafficking charges. The operation took place on Fox Street in collaboration with canine units from WPD and Framingham PD. The search warrant execution resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of narcotics and currency.

The bust uncovered what appears to be roughly 10,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, about 700 grams of fentanyl powder, and approximately 500 grams of cocaine, according to a press release from the Worcester Police Department. In addition to the drugs, law enforcement also found cash and an assortment of materials used for the packaging and distribution of narcotics.

The arrested individuals, identified as Luis Ortiz, 31, Christian Cruz Velasquez, 29, Angel Santos, 45, Leslie Rodriguez Santos, 37, and Luis Cruz, 34, are now facing charges of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, each in excess of 200 grams. The arrests resulted from a targeted effort to disrupt local drug distribution networks.

The Worcester Police Department and partnering agencies continue to tackle the distribution of these illicit drugs, which wreak havoc on individuals and families. The suspects are currently held pending arraignment and further legal proceedings.
