The Wright County Sheriff's Office has recently made public a list of arrests for a variety of charges from August 26th through September 1st, 2024. According to the official report, there were multiple arrests for controlled substance violations, driving while intoxicated, and property-related offenses within Wright County.

Among the individuals apprehended for DWI was Mbah Ngoh Charles, a 34-year-old from Laurel, MD, who now faces charges not only for 2nd Degree DWI Test Refusal but also Child Endangerment, as detailed in the Wright County Sheriff’s report. In a separate incident, Reuben Kamau Nganga, 38, from Andover was also booked under charges of 3rd Degree DWI, alongside Child Endangerment charges, raising concern about the safety of minors in such situations.

Violence and property crimes also marked the list, with arrests for domestic assault, such as the case of 41-year-old Julie Marie Ford from Rockford, and 2nd Degree Assault, like that charged against Shawn Michael Swanson, a 33-year-old from Big Lake. The Sheriff's Office noted multiple arrests for theft and controlled substances, highlighting a continued battle against criminal activities that affect community safety and well-being.

Not to be excluded, property damage and personal injury accidents were recorded by the Sheriff's Office, bringing attention to the ongoing vehicular risks within the county. While there were no hit-and-run accidents or violations of a school bus stop arm reported during this period, the tally of 19 DWI arrests out of 25 property damage accidents points towards an unsettling link between alcohol consumption and traffic incidents. Fraudulent activities emerged in the forms of possession of counterfeit currency and giving an officer a false name, as Tiffany Kay Rubink and Kody Allen Pingeon were apprehended on respective charges, providing a glimpse into the diverse scope of law enforcement's responsibilities.

Aside from the customary traffic violations, which added up to 172 tickets issued by the Sheriff's Office, there were 2 cases of underage consumption, further illustrating the challenges faced by communities in safeguarding the youth. These figures serve to underline the continuous efforts of the Wright County Sheriff's Office to enforce the law and ensure public safety.
