The Houston Police Department is actively searching for a second suspect. They released a surveillance photo of the man on October 2, but he remains elusive. He is described as a black male, between the ages of 18 to 25, and was last seen sporting black and brown locks, alongside a black shirt and pants. The HPD Homicide Division detectives, H. Montealegre-Cerrato and G. Rangel, leading the investigation, have not yet disclosed the name of the 45-year-old victim, as verification pend from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, as detailed by the City of Houston News.
On the evening of October 1, when officers, swiftly responding to reports of a shooting at 12100 Overbrook Lane, found an unresponsive male victim on the sidewalk, his life extinguished by bullet wounds. The initial confrontation spiraled from a shoplifting accusation to a chase, and ultimately, gunfire. The altercation climaxed when the now-deceased man attempted to subdue the suspects with pepper spray, which resulted in the fatal pursuit.
Grant, implicated in the event, surrendered himself last Thursday, offering detectives a statement outlining his involvement.
