A 20-year-old man, identified as Taurikos Lavern Stallworth, has been arrested in connection to a double shooting that occurred on September 21 in Winton Hills, which tragically left a 37-year-old man named Devon Trotter dead and another man severely injured, according to a report by WLWT. The incident unfolded in the early morning hours, approximately around 1:15 a.m., on the 100 block of Craft Street, where Cincinnati police found the two men with gunshot wounds.
The Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit, alongside the Fugitive Apprehension Squad, made headway in the case with Stallworth's apprehension yesterday and is continuing their investigation. People with further information are urged to contact the unit, as reflected in the details provided by FOX19, as law enforcement continues their search for additional leads that might shed further light on the circumstances behind the senseless shooting. Stallworth now faces a series of charges, including two counts of murder, one count of felonious assault, and one count of having weapons under disability, charges that reflect his history with the justice system as he was previously convicted of a robbery just last year and was thus prohibited from firearm possession.
Revealed through an indictment reported on by The Enquirer, Stallworth, a resident of Winton Hills himself, remains detained at the Hamilton County Justice Center with no bond offered as of the last update. His prior conviction for robbery in 2023 constituted him being under a weapons disability, implicating the seriousness of the recent charges he must now face. Trotter, the deceased, was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by Cincinnati fire personnel. At the same time, the second victim, still unnamed, was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries.
Anyone holding a piece of this puzzle is strongly encouraged to contact the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.
