
Tragedy struck the neighborhood of 2700 2nd Avenue on October 17, when a young woman was fatally shot in what appears to be another disturbing instance of gun violence in the community. Dallas Police were called to the scene at around 2:20 p.m. and discovered the victim with gunshot wounds in a field. She was quickly transported to the hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue, but despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators have since worked to piece together swiftly the circumstances surrounding the shooting. In a swift development, the Dallas Police Department has arrested 21-year-old Damarquis Green, whom they have charged with murder in connection with the incident. As the case evolves, the suspect remains under custody, with the investigation still actively underway and chronicled under case number 158212-2024.
