A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours this morning as a 21-year-old St. Louis man, Lucas Menz, died in a car crash. First Alert 4 reports the accident occurred on Southbound I-55 just north of Lindbergh, where an SUV was discovered overturned.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicated that Menz was attempting to evade a St. Louis County officer when he lost control of the vehicle. This initiated him to drive off the left side of the highway, resulting in the vehicle flipping over. Motorists encountered significant delays as the southbound lanes of I-55 at Reavis Barracks were closed for hours but have since been reopened.
