A 31-year-old man has been taken into custody by the Las Vegas Police after an alleged murder in a central valley apartment. According to FOX5 Las Vegas, officers arrived on the scene near Decatur and Sahara around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, following reports of an altercation.

Police discovered a male victim inside an apartment, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was swiftly transported to an hospital but unfortunately did not survive the injuries. News 3 Las Vegas reported that the homicide detectives found the incident to have escalated from a verbal altercation to violence.

Aristides Matute, the victim's stepson, has been charged with open murder following the incident. It is believed by the police that an argument between him and the victim led to the fatal stabbing. The Clark County Detention Center confirmed that Matute was booked into their custody.

As of now, the Clark County Coroner’s office has not released the identity of the victim. The cause of death will be disclosed following a proper investigation, which is still ongoing.
