A Nanakuli Wendy's became a scene of violence when a confrontation led to the stabbing death of a young employee. Prosecutors have charged 60-year-old Reynaldo Cheney with second-degree murder and first-degree and second-degree attempted murder, as reported by KITV.

The altercation at Wendy's on 89-102 Farrington Highway began when 22-year-old staff member Kashka Otto confronted 60-year-old Reynaldo Cheney about moving furniture. What started as a minor issue escalated into a fatal dispute after Cheney asked Otto to stop, leading to an argument and a physical fight.

According to Hawaii News Now, after Otto reportedly punched Cheney, both he and a 44-year-old male co-worker who attempted to intervene were stabbed; Otto later succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Queen's Medical Center West Oahu.

The incident, which police detailed, began after Cheney was confronted for rearranging furniture and using a derogatory term towards Otto. The situation then moved outdoors, where it escalated further with Otto and his coworker trying to remove Cheney from the premises. Otto's coworker, also injured, was released following treatment at Queen’s Medical Center Punchbowl.

While details of the confrontation and ensuing legal proceedings are forthcoming, Cheney is currently held on $1 million bail, and dates for a preliminary hearing have not been announced.
