
Early yesterday morning, a confrontation in Stockton's Seaport District escalated into violence, resulting in a 75-year-old man's arrest for assault with a deadly weapon among other charges. The Stockton Police Department reported on their Facebook page that their officers, while patrolling the 400 Block of South California Street, encountered Jamal Haneef, who allegedly displayed a weapon and turned physically combative.
According to the Stockton Police Department, the situation necessitated the use of force for the officers to subdue and detain Haneef. Following the altercation, Haneef was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. The report detailed the charges laid upon him: assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and trespassing.
