An Akron Police officer, identified as Geoffrey Parker, faces serious allegations involving a minor following an indictment yesterday. Charged with multiple counts of sex crimes, Parker is currently held in the Trumbull County Jail with a bond set at $1 million, as reported by WKBN. The indictment includes charges such as illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, gross sexual imposition, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, and pandering obscenity involving a minor.
A detailed narrative by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Special Victims Unit accuses Parker of sharing and creating explicit content. Having been arrested on the evening of August 16, the officer's alleged crimes have rocked the local community and law enforcement establishment. The Summit County grand jury presented Parker's indictment, marking a continuation of legal proceedings that began in Niles Municipal Court.
