The County Elections Division has reminded voters in Allegheny County that ten Ballot Return Sites are available to accept mail-in ballots through Monday, November 4. These locations allow those wishing to ensure their vote is counted to hand their ballots directly to a county employee.
With the clock ticking down to Election Day, it's critical to remember that ballots need to be in the hands of the Elections Division by 8 PM, November 5, if they're to be part of the tally, a statement from the Allegheny County press release clarified. Even if a ballot is postmarked in time, if it arrives late, it’s not cutting.
Strategically scattered across the county, the Ballot Return Sites span from the Allegheny County Emergency Services Building in Moon to the South Park Ice Rink. Their operational hours are weekdays from 11 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 9 AM to 5 PM until the day before the election.
In addition to these locations, the County Office Building downtown will participate in ballot collection, even offering curbside convenience with a temporary parking lane on Ross Street. According to the county's press release, the building is open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 5 PM on the weekends; aligning with these efforts, it will serve voters during the same hours as polling places on Election Day, from 7 AM to 8 PM.
