Involved in the altercation that preceded the shooting, a 39-year-old woman was also wounded, found with a minor graze from a stray bullet. Transported to an area hospital, she was being treated and has since been released. The post by the police department detailed how witnesses described the scene as a confrontation involving multiple individuals just before the gunfire erupted. Despite being minor, this incident highlights once more how even bystanders are not spared in the crosshairs of community violence.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department's Western District detectives are now leading a vigorous investigation. Urgently piecing together the events of that evening, they are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying those responsible for this senseless act that nearly claimed a young life and endangered others. The department urges anyone with information to call at 410-222-6155 or, for those who prefer to remain unnamed, the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
