In an intersection of sports celebrity and political pageantry, former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has announced his plan to address the crowd at a rally for former President Donald Trump. Set against the backdrop of Latrobe's Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, the event, scheduled for Saturday evening, beckons supporters of the former president's 2024 campaign efforts, as per reports from WPXI.
Brown, who parted ways with the Steelers in 2018, has not been reticent in expressing his political leanings, explicitly voicing his support for Trump. In a recent post on his "X" feed, Brown stated, "Time to help make real change," hinting at a desire to impact the current political discourse. According to an Audacy report, Brown revealed what appears to be an invitation email to speak at the rally, which read, "We are excited to have you provide remarks in the pre-program ahead of President Donald J. Trump’s president Donald J. Trump’s Rally in Latrobe, PA on Saturday, October 19, 2024."
Further entwining sport and civic engagement, Brown also announced a tailgate party before Sunday's game. There, alongside former teammate Le’Veon Bell, he encouraged fans to participate in the electoral process. “Those that register to vote during the event will get a photo op with him and Bell,” Brown proclaimed, as per Audacy report.
