The quiet of an Arlington neighborhood was shattered on Sunday night when gunshots rang out, leaving a 27-year-old man dead in what appears to be a drug-related incident. Police found the victim in a 2011 Ford Edge, riddled with bullets, and crashed into multiple parked vehicles at an apartment complex on Wilcrest Drive, according to the Arlington Police Department.
After receiving numerous emergency calls, law enforcement officials arrived at the scene around 11:05 p.m. The man was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds eventually he was transported to a nearby hospital where he would succumb to injuries sustained in the shooting, which seems to have taken place as he was driving through the lot, causing the SUV to perpetuate its motion after he was struck, the assailant remains unknown as of now, with detectives eagerly seeking information from anyone who might help illuminate this blight on the community.
No witnesses have come forward with accounts of the incident, and the Arlington Police Department has released the victim's age but has held back his identity pending notification of next of kin, as per the standard procedure outlined by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.
