The pursuit of the stolen vehicle was brief; a Zone 5 supervisor initiated a chase at 2:11 a.m. in Homewood, but, the suspect eluded authorities, abandoning the vehicle at Oakwood St. and Inglenook Place. It was later recovered, unoccupied on the side of the road and towed for forensic processing by the Auto Squad, "The investigation is ongoing," detailed the City of Pittsburgh.
Descriptions of the suspect have been sparse, but Pittsburgh Police have provided some details. The perpetrator is believed to be a 5'10" male, approximately 25 years old, clad in a multicolored hoodie and black pants.
