On Wednesday, at around 6:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Bitterwood Place following reports of individuals smoking illegal substances. Upon arrival, law enforcement observed a 25-year-old female smoking marijuana and using prescription pills. Additionally, officers noticed a 20-year-old male attempting to conceal an object in his hand, prompting further investigation, as reported by the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
The male suspect was found to own a .45 caliber Springfield handgun and was apprehended without incident. Meanwhile, the female suspect was discovered with approximately 39.63 grams of suspected cocaine and 9.52 grams of suspected fentanyl pills. It was also revealed that she had an outstanding arrest warrant at the time of her apprehension.
Both individuals, identified as John Evan Palmer, a 24-year-old male with no fixed address, and Maya Solidad Ford, a 25-year-old female from Laurel, Maryland, were arrested and charged accordingly. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
