According to police, yesterday morning, just after 9 a.m., two masked men wielding firearms stormed into the Wells Fargo branch located on Elm Avenue. They commanded that patrons and staff drop to the floor, subsequently making off with an undisclosed sum of cash.
As reported by FOX40, no detailed descriptions of these suspects have been made available to the public, nor has information about a possible getaway vehicle. This lack of information comes as an unsettling reminder of September 2022, when the same bank was victim to a robbery committed by a masked individual who made off with money after handing a note to a teller.
The Auburn Police Department is now working in tandem with the FBI to investigate the robbery; they're combing every lead and tactically piecing together surveillance evidence. CBS News Sacramento reports that police are currently seeking witnesses and hunting down any surveillance footage that may have captured the crime or the suspects’ escape.
