For those who envision themselves trotting the globe while knocking out some college credits, Austin Community College District (ACC) is offering a ticket to do just that. The Summer 2025 study abroad lineup includes about 10 programs, awaiting both new and existing students desiring to expand their academic horizons in foreign lands.
From Argentina, where Spanish III will come alive against a backdrop of tango rhythms, to the historical streets of Italy that will serve as a canvas for Art History and a kitchen for Culinary arts, ACC's programs are dishing out variety for every palate. Other destinations include Austria for Art Appreciation, Costa Rica for Biology, Cuba for Music, France for Fashion, and Theater; Germany for Welding Technology, Peru for Environmental Science, and Romania for Social Psychology. Each study abroad experience aims to mix textbooks with texture, culture with curriculum.
Getting into the program involves enrolling at ACC and sitting through an advising session to find the right fit. Students can opt for virtual sessions, one-on-one meetings, group advisories, or they can simply click through a pre-recorded video advice session. After this, they would receive the application form needed to officially become a part of the Summer 2025 programs.
The clock is ticking, as the application due date is stamped: February 6, 2025. That's right, less than four months away from now. For the studious adventurers eager to pack their bags and their brains, more details about each destination, along with the full application process, can be found on ACC's Study Abroad website at austincc.edu/studyabroad, as reported by the institution.
