
The Austin Police Department has revealed the identity of a pedestrian who was tragically killed in a collision that happened last week on the east side of Austin. The pedestrian, identified as 28-year-old Kameron Hartman, lost his life in a hit-and-run incident, as reported by KXAN. Officers arrived at the 4600 block of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard past 9:30 p.m. on September 25, to find two vehicles involved in the fatal crash with a pedestrian.
The first driver involved in the accident stayed to speak with investigative authorities and is said to be fully cooperating. However, the second driver chose to leave hastily the crash site without providing assistance or informing the police. This hit-and-run is currently under investigation and has been recorded as Austin's 66th fatal crash of the year, according to details released by the police department.
In the wake of this tragic event, the Austin Police Department is actively seeking information from the public to assist them with their investigation. As per FOX 7 Austin, Hartman was struck initially by a white SUV and then by another following vehicle as he was crossing. The driver of the white SUV remained at the scene without sustaining any injuries.
The Police have urged anyone with any information relating to this incident to reach out to their Vehicular Homicide unit directly.
