Revival Coffee, a popular spot known for its distinctive pink aesthetic and community vibe, is brewing its final cups of coffee this Sunday. In an announcement shared on Thursday, the East 7th street cafe, part of the Gabriela's Group, revealed they were unable to secure a long-term lease renewal, leading to their impending closure. According to KXAN, the heartfelt goodbye post expressed gratitude, stating, "To our incredible staff, thank you for your hard work and dedication. And to our amazing customers, you’ve made Revival more than a café; you’ve made it a home."
The closure marks the end of an era for a coffee shop that was rejuvenated back in 2020 by Alma Gabriela Lopez, leader of the Gabriela's group. Revival Coffee quickly became a fixture in its neighborhood with not just its beverages but also as a cozy gathering spot. A GoFundMe page has since been established to support the staff during their transition to new opportunities. This gesture reflects the shop's community-oriented ethos, one that extended beyond the confines of the cafe walls. Despite the final pour approaching, the team led by Gabriela is brewing up hope for the future with hints at new projects slated for 2025, as reported by CBS Austin.
Customers have been invited to savor their last sips and bid farewell over the coming days. Revival Coffee's journey, from its inception to its temporary revival, has been steeped in community spirit. While this may be the last chapter for Revival Coffee in its current form, the anticipation of what's to come from Gabriela and her team is palpable. Patrons are encouraged to follow their social media for announcements about the anticipated projects in the upcoming year.
