October in Duluth welcomes the young, and the young at heart, to engage in fall festivities that are sure to carve smiles as easily as jack-o'-lanterns. The City's Parks and Recreation Department has announced a series of events tailor-made for families looking to revel in the seasonal cheer.
Beginning the autumnal revelry is Toddler Play Time, a staple for folks with little ones eager for play and camaraderie. The Washington Center Gym will transform into an indoor playground, where children from ages 0 to 5 can play and socialize under the watchful eyes of their caretakers. This free weekly event runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, as mentioned in the City of Duluth, MN Government.
The weekend adds a festive gourd twist with Pumpkin Palooza, setting the stage this Saturday at Harrison Park. It kicks off at 10 a.m. with a "pumpkin themed storytime" for the young readers, presented in collaboration with the Duluth Public Library. Following the literary appetizer, families can plunge into pumpkin carving and painting activities from 10:30 a.m. to noon, as per the City of Duluth, MN Government. Although pumpkins are available on a first-come, first-serve basis participants, are encouraged to bring their own should the limited supply run out. Notably, the event is backed by a generous pumpkin donation from Duluth Whole Foods Co-op, making the event possible.
