Residents and visitors should prepare for a bustling weekend in Baltimore, with the 58th annual Fell’s Point Fun Festival and the Morgan State University Homecoming Parade among the activities causing road closures and parking restrictions.
According to the City of Baltimore, key streets such as Thames Street between Point and Wolfe Streets, Broadway between Aliceanna and Thames Streets, and several others will be closed from 5 p.m. Friday until 11:59 p.m. Sunday for the Fell's Point event. Motorists should anticipate detours and consider alternative transportation methods, with the department suggesting using the Waze app to navigate around the closures. The Morgan State University Homecoming Parade will see closures on The Alameda and various connecting roads from 6 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The International Edgar Allan Poe Festival and Awards, celebrating the legendary literary figure, will result in the closure of N. Amity Street from W. Saratoga Street to W. Fayette Street and W. Lexington Street from Poppleton Street to N. Schroeder Street. The vibrant Fiesta Baltimore Festival and Parade in Patterson Park on Sunday will also lead to road shutdowns, impacting S. Linwood Avenue from Eastern Avenue to E. Pratt Street and surrounding streets during specific hours.
Meanwhile, Bolton Hill's Festival on the Hill will be held on Saturday, and the Baltimore Taco Festival will be held at Power Plant Live! will contribute to the list of closures, with Bolton Street, Lanvale Street, Jenkins Alley, Water Street, and Market Place being temporarily inaccessible to vehicular traffic.
