The accident happened near Liberty Road and Brubar Court at about 9:30 P.M., involving two vehicles—a 2014 Dodge Ram and a 2017 Nissan Altima—and a pedestrian. The Baltimore County Police Department shared in a statement that the victim, identified as 52-year-old Jose Rivas, was attempting to cross the road when the collision happened, resulting in fatal injuries.
The drivers of both vehicles involved in the crash remained at the scene, cooperating with the authorities as they arrived to assess the tragic situation. The fact that there was no immediate flight by those behind the wheels affords investigators a fuller account of the tragic events. Officers promptly cordoned off the area to facilitate a comprehensive investigation. According to information provided by the Baltimore County Police Department, firefighters from the Baltimore County Fire Department were present at the scene and pronounced Rivas deceased.
