On September 18, 2024, Baltimore Police responded to a report of a shooting, eventually leading to the arrest of 40-year-old Tavone Lewis on charges connected to the incident, as reported by the Baltimore Police Department. The victim, a 27-year-old male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the 300 block of S Mount Olivet Lane.
The law enforcement response was prompted by a call for a walk-in shooting at a local hospital at around 8:16 p.m.; detectives from the Southwest District took over the investigation soon after they discovered the victim's injuries were linked to the reported location, Lewis was apprehended on October 9 and is now facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, among others, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
After the arrest, Lewis was transported straight to the Central Booking Intake Facility. The details surrounding the incident, however, remain under investigation as authorities continue to unravel the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
