Subsequently, police encountered multiple juveniles inside an abandoned building near the crime scene. Three 14-year-olds, one male and two females, were identified and arrested, with one of the girls found carrying a firearm. All three were taken to Juvenile Booking and placed under electronic monitoring. Later on the same day, two of the female suspects became involved in an assault when they tried to re-enter the store they had robbed, a confrontation ensued and an officer was spat on during the intervention leading to the juveniles' return to custody for processing.
Further investigations have revealed a more extensive pattern of criminal behavior, as the pair of female suspects have been implicated in three separate robberies dating back to September 27, exposing a cycle of repeated arrests and releases within the Maryland juvenile justice system.
