
On Wednesday afternoon, the calm on West Caton Avenue was disrupted by the piercing sound of gunfire. According to a statement from the Baltimore Police Department, officers were dispatched around 5:15 p.m. to the 3500 block following reports of a shooting. What they found was a 53-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
First responders quickly took the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Southwest District Shooting detectives are now investigating the incident to understand what led to the shooting. The victim's identity hasn't been released yet, and detectives are actively searching for clues and witnesses.
Authorities are now calling on the public to participate in their investigation.
