An elementary school student from Barbers Hill ISD was hospitalized after being struck by a school bus early this morning. According to FOX 26 Houston, the accident occurred around 7:40 a.m. on Sapphire Lagoon Street in the Joseph's Cove subdivision. Emergency services quickly responded, taking the student from Elementary School South to a local Houston-area hospital to be assessed for injuries.
The conditions were non-life threatening for the injured student and while on the scene, there were only two passengers and the driver aboard the bus, none of whom were injured in the incident. As part of their ongoing investigation, local authorities are working closely with Barbers Hill ISD, trying to understand the circumstances of the accident, as the school district confirms their cooperation.
