Orlando's North Quarter is gearing up to welcome a new indulgence for those with a sweet tooth and a caffeine fix. Taking over the space formerly occupied by Downtown Credo, Beignets & Brew, a cafe chain from Miramar Beach, is set to open next month at 885 N. Orange Avenue, Orlando Weekly reports.
The new spot plans to serve traditional beignets alongside inventive spins, including flavors like S'More and Cinna-Swirl, tastefully accompanied by various dipping sauces—blueberry, buttercream, and chocolate. The arrival of Beignets & Brew brings new life into a venue that once stirred up coffee and a dose of social activism. While customers enjoy these deep-fried delights, they can also sip on a selection of coffees, from the quintessential café au lait to smoothies and power fizzes, as described in Bungalower's recent article.
"We look forward to creating a welcoming environment where locals can gather, connect and savor the simple pleasures of life together," Beignets & Brew representatives expressed in a statement detailed by Orlando Weekly. The company has announced its objective to employ 10-15 people to manage the cafe, combining the satisfaction of creating job opportunities with the joy of serving up sugar-dusted treats.
Although the closing of Downtown Credo's cafe on August 25 has left a void for its regular patrons, the community-focused footprint it left behind is something Beignets & Brew seems eager to fill, albeit with a different, more sugary kind of activism. The company emphasized its commitment to fostering community connections, a value that Downtown Credo held dear, now layered with the scent of beignets in the air, according to Bungalower.
