In a significant development after months of investigation, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office has arrested 20-year-old Isaiah Perales. He is facing charges, including capital murder, in connection with the violent attack that resulted in the death of a 4-year-old girl in Northeast Bexar County. Perales was apprehended on Green Arbor Street, as per a statement obtained by KSAT.
According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, on May 8, two gunmen emerged from a vehicle, unleashing a barrage of gunfire into a Windsor Hollow Drive townhome, leading to the immediate death of MaryAnn Marble just before her fifth birthday. The scene showed a family impacted by violence; a 7-year-old boy was shot in his arm and abdomen, an 8-year-old in his knee, and the children's parents sustained gunshot wounds, KENS 5 reported.
The breakthrough in the case came after an informed tip through San Antonio Crime Stoppers linked Perales to the crime. Sheriff Salazar detailed that Perales' digital footprint, including phone location data, placed him "in very close proximity" to the crime scene, as per report by KEN 5. Found by a dive team at Calaveras Lake, a Draco AK-47-style gun was submitted to the Bexar County Crime Lab, establishing a match between the weapon and shell casings from the site of the shooting.
Sheriff Salazar has indicated the likelihood of further arrests, with Bryan Salazar and Ashton Garcia remaining points of interest in the ongoing investigation. Bryan Salazar, after having been charged with tampering with evidence and deadly conduct for actions including deleting potential evidence from his cell phone, is currently under house arrest, and Garcia had previously turned himself into authorities, KENS 5 detailed.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is seeking information from the public about this crime and is offering a $10,000 reward through Crime Stoppers for tips that lead to an arrest. Community members are encouraged to call the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at (210) 335-6000 or San Antonio Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP with any information.
