Boston's weather is preparing for a notable end to October, with temperatures expected to shift significantly. Early in the week, residents can expect patchy frost, light winds, and mostly sunny skies, with temperatures hovering just above the freezing mark at night, according to the National Weather Service. A few showers may occur Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning, with a 60% chance of rain.
Forecasts indicate a brief period of showers after a notably dry season. Boston has seen one of its driest autumns on record, with just over two inches of rain since September 1. This has raised fire dangers in the region, raising concerns about undetected brush fires, according to a statement obtained by NBC Boston.
There is some good news as warmer weather approaches. A warm front is expected to raise temperatures later in the week, with highs possibly breaking records set in 1946—81 degrees in Boston and 79 degrees in Worcester.
With milder evenings ahead, warm weather is expected. Nighttime temperatures on Thursday are forecasted to stay in the upper 60s.
