Following a routine traffic stop in Dorchester, Boston Police took 27-year-old Marvin Chery into custody on Friday evening. Chery, whose residence is listed in Boston, was apprehended in the vicinity of 244 Almost Street by officers from District B-3 (Mattapan). The suspect was wanted on a slew of charges, including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 2nd Offense, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, as well as Attempted Assault and Battery with a Firearm, according to a statement by the Boston Police Department.
The arrest came in connection to an earlier incident that transpired on the morning of September 27, 2024. Police had been called to the 468 Harvard Street area after reports of gunfire. While there, the responding officers came upon ballistic evidence but, fortunately, discovered no individuals harmed by the rounds that had pierced the morning's calm.
Chery is set to face the Massachusetts justice system, with an arraignment scheduled at the Dorchester District Court.
