Boulder County is set to honor military service members with its upcoming Veterans Stand Down & Resource Fair, an event designed to provide support and resources to veterans, particularly reaching out to those who face homelessness and other challenges. According to Boulder County, the fair will take place on October 17 and aims to serve all veterans, including those experiencing homelessness, by offering information, services, and supplies.
Held at the American Legion John Harold Buckley Post 32 in Longmont, the event promises a gathering of vendors ranging from non-profit agencies that cater specifically to veterans to representatives offering various VA services. The initiative moves beyond previous years where a primary focus was placed on veterans in need of housing support, and it now seeks to extend its reach with a more inclusive embrace, and with it comes the possibility of nourishing aid for spouses and dependents caught in the ripples of service.
A complimentary breakfast will kick off the fair at 9 a.m., immediately followed by the resource fair at 9:30 a.m. This year's resource fair is expected to provide a comprehensive network of support, aligning federal services with local goodwill, creating a nexus where veterans can find the necessities such as supplies for those experiencing homelessness but also tap into broader services, guidance, and food.
