The suspect implicated in the violent double homicide on Ocean Boulevard in Boca Raton has been returned to Palm Beach County after his apprehension in Georgia. De’Vante Moss, the 30-year-old Boynton Beach resident, faces two counts of first-degree murder and an additional charge of attempted first-degree murder, CBS12 News reported. The Boca Raton police allege Moss fatally shot two individuals, Christopher Liszak, 49, and Chandler Dill, 32, with a third victim sustaining multiple gunshot injuries outside a local hotel last month.
According to details from an arrest report obtained by Boca News Now, witnesses and surveillance video detailed a struggle over a purse that ended in gunfire. The report described Moss and the male victim engaging in a physical confrontation inside a silver Jaguar before Moss shot the victims and fled. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office records indicated that after the incident, Moss was captured following a traffic stop by Georgia State Police and extradited back to Florida yesterday.
During the investigation, officials stated, "Moss exited the vehicle raised a pistol and shot the female victim [Dill] and Liszak at close range. Moss turned the pistol towards the male victim, who was by the passenger door, fired and shot him," during a news conference. Moreover, Mayor Scott Singer addressed the incident, reassuring the community that crimes of this nature will not be tolerated within the city, as per CBS12 News.
Witness testimonies and video surveillance have provided a detailed account of the tragic events. The third victim, identified by BocaNewsNow.com as Tuan Duy Hoang Ho, struggled with Moss and tried to crawl to safety before Moss shot him at close range. Following the incident, Dill and Liszak were found dead at the scene, while Ho was taken to a medical center.
Moss's fiancée, who last saw him packing for a supposed business trip, identified him as the suspect from surveillance images. Officials found a black Juicy Couture purse belonging to Dill at the scene, along with several spent 9mm shell casings. Although a search warrant was executed at Moss's home in Boynton Beach, neither he nor his vehicle were found immediately. However, Georgia authorities later tracked down the vehicle, leading to Moss's detention and his return to Palm Beach County for trial.
