Carrollton’s Josey Ranch Lake Library is gearing up for an evening filled with magic and mythical antics during their Enchanted Library event. Slated for Friday, November 22, from 5-8 p.m. at 1700 Keller Springs Road, this family-friendly affair promises a variety of activities ranging from shows to crafts that aim to spark the imaginations of both young and old.

Fantasy buffs looking forward to the event can expect interactive experiences like crafting dragon eggs, lighting up fairy luminary jars, and testing their lore knowledge through trivia. For the kids, the library has scheduled a visit from "Fairy Laurel" and her puppet friends between 5-6 p.m. Additionally, a special fairytale storytime will unfold a narrative of distant lands at 7 p.m. The teens aren’t left out either, as the Teen Advisory Council of Carrollton Public Library prepares to host a social crafting hour from 5-7 p.m.

The intrigue continues for adults as well, with the Alternative Comedy Theater setting the stage for a fantasy improv show from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Here, attendees can engage in a Dungeons & Dragons improv game, making decisions that will directly influence the course of the performance. Melissa Neybert, Youth Services Librarian, underscored the inclusiveness of the event, saying, as per the City of Carrollton, "Enchanted Library is a celebration of everything that is magical and fantastical for all ages." These words truly reflect the library's ethos for the night – an openness to all things imaginative.

Participants are encouraged to don their best fantasy and fairytale garb, with knights, princesses, witches, and wizards welcomed in equal measure. To top off the whimsical night, a free photography exhibit titled A Colorful Dream will be accessible throughout the evening. The exhibition, which includes the vibrant photography of Adrien Broom and is on display through January 7, is facilitated by ExhibitsUSA and supported by The National Endowment for the Arts and Friends of the Carrollton Public Library.
