
In a recent crackdown on drug-related crime in Cedar Park, Williamson County authorities have apprehended a man who is suspected of dealing fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid that has been linked to numerous overdose deaths across the nation. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit carried out a search warrant on Monday at a residence situated on the 1700 block of Bagdad Road, leading to the seizure of illegal substances and the arrest of the alleged dealer, as reported by KXAN.
Detailed reports following the operation by the Sheriff's Office indicate that the search resulted in the confiscation of both crack cocaine, estimated at around 19.5 grams, and close to 8.5 grams of suspected fentanyl, signaling a notable bust in the ongoing battle against the opioid crisis, according to a statement obtained by KXAN.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Demarcus Tennison, is now facing charges of manufacturing and delivery of fentanyl and crack cocaine, with authorities underscoring his previous extensive record of run-ins with the law, which includes approximately 29 drug offenses among numerous other charges, as relayed by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to FOX 7 Austin.
