An unexpected incident on State Route 65 caused a stir yesterday morning when a cement truck driver found themselves in a precarious position. CBS News reports that at just after 7 a.m., near Sunset Boulevard in Rocklin, the driver was compelled to swerve to avoid a pedestrian who had dashed onto the highway from the right shoulder.
The evasive maneuver had consequences; while avoiding a serious collision, the cement truck tipped onto the center divider. Although no lanes were fully blocked, this caused traffic slowdowns. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver was taken to the hospital for pain.
FOX40 provided visuals of the aftermath, with images showing the heavy vehicle leaning onto its passenger side. The incident did not result in severe injuries. The report also confirmed that the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a person running through traffic on the southbound side of the highway this morning.
