Minneapolis residents in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood might be navigating a bit of a construction maze these past few days, but it’s all part of the plan as CenterPoint Energy continues to update the area’s natural gas infrastructure. Working diligently throughout the week, crews have been busy replacing service lines and meters along Cedar Lake Road and Mount View Avenue. According to CenterPoint Energy, the focus has now shifted to Russel Avenue S. and Queen Avenue S. between Mount View Avenue and Wayzata Boulevard.
Following construction in those areas, preparations are already underway on Vincent Avenue N. and Washburn Avenue N. between Glenwood Avenue and Chestnut Avenue W, with construction crews set to descend into the neighborhood soon, as per CenterPoint Energy. While some might grumble at the temporary inconvenience, the essential upgrades to the natural gas system promise improved service for the long term.
Homeowners who are yet to schedule their meter relocation from inside to outside should take notice. CenterPoint Energy is urging residents to call 612-342-5123 to arrange for this necessary adjustment. Post-construction, the sod and order to the streets will be restored by Q3, CenterPoint Energy’s restoration contractor, trailing closely behind the construction crews in the coming weeks.
For those with questions or concerns about how the construction might affect their daily comings and goings, CenterPoint has provided a direct line to its Communication Specialist at 612-321-5546 or via email at [email protected]. CenterPoint expressed gratitude for the community's patience through a statement saying, "We appreciate your patience as we’re upgrading our infrastructure. We wish you a great season!"
