The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) has announced significant service detours for this Saturday, due to the upcoming Concert for Carolina. The charity event aimed at raising funds for Hurricane Helene relief efforts is set to take place at Bank of America Stadium and will lead to road closures affecting various bus routes.
According to an official statement on the CATS website, impacted bus routes are 1, 5, 7, 8, 16, 22, 26, 34, 35 that will be rerouted due to the closure of Mint Street between Morehead Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. The alterations will commence from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. Organizers are coupling the musical festivities with a canned food drive, seeking donations of vegetables, fruit, and soups.
Transit users who frequent the affected areas should prepare for alterations to their usual commutes as several stops will be missed during the detour. The Charlotte Area Transit System has listed the complete lineup of missed stops on their website, highlighting the key locations where commuters will be most impacted.
