A total of over 50,000 participants are expected this year, prompting extensive preparations for road closures and impacting traffic routes. The race is due to start and finish within the open spaces of Grant Park, ensnaring a tapestry of 29 neighborhoods in its weave. As reported by NBC Chicago, revelers and supporters will be scattered along the course, cheering at various watchpoints.
To ensure the smooth operation of the race and the safety of participants and spectators alike, it's been announced that main thoroughfares such as DuSable Lake Shore Drive and expressways including the Dan Ryan and Kennedy will remain open, with select exit ramps closed.
