Commemorating half a century of dedicated service, the Mayor ensured that Erwin's name would be permanently etched into the calendar of community events. "He has championed the needs of others," said Mayor Pitts, "being both frozen and buried alive to raise funds for the local Humane Society," as reported by the city's official website.
