A CMU motorcycle officer was injured last night while escorting a motorcade to Acrisure Stadium, as confirmed by the Public Safety Blotter. According to the City of Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, the incident happened just before 8:45 p.m. on Carson Street when the officer hit a curb in the West End Circle and was ejected from his motorcycle. Following the accident, he was transported to the hospital in stable condition, still alert and conscious.
The motorcade, which they were securing at the time of the accident, continued on its path without delay. Details surrounding the cause of the crash are still under wraps, with the Collision Investigation Unit taking the helm of the investigation. The identity of the dignitary in the motorcade has not been released.
