Authorities in Columbus are conducting a manhunt for Marquale Brown, a 37-year-old Black male suspected of aggravated assault following a shooting last week. According to the Columbus Police Department, the incident unfolded last Tuesday when officers were called to the 500 block of 5th Avenue after a shooting report at around 7:15 p.m.
The incident began with an argument in a nearby store when the victim, whose name has not been released, claimed Brown followed her in a vehicle, who then shot at her. The Violent Crimes Unit is now leading the investigation, and warrants for Brown have been issued, charging him with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
In the aftermath, the Columbus Police have heightened their efforts to locate Brown, urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to his arrest. They have advised residents to exercise caution, reminding them that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and have described Brown to aid in his capture.
