
Columbus residents are being asked to be on the lookout for a suspect involved in a recent string of identification fraud incidents. According to the Columbus Police Department, the unidentified individual is responsible for cashing fraudulent Treasury Checks using fake identification. The incidents occurred on the 200 block of Civic Center Drive on June 4 and June 7, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities.
The Columbus Division of Police released an image of the suspect in a media release to garner community assistance in identifying the culprit. These fraudulent activities have not only raised concerns over financial security but also highlighted the ever-present threat of identity theft within the community. The authorities have not revealed how much was stolen through these fraudulent transactions.
